The drama behind the scenes of the iconic series “Beverly Hills, 90210” seems to have been just as intense as the scripted conflicts that captivated viewers.
During a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” alongside Tori Spelling to promote the reboot “BH90210,” Jennie Garth shared a revealing anecdote about a heated altercation with co-star Shannen Doherty from their time filming the original ‘90s show.
Recalling the incident, Garth candidly admitted, “I can only remember one incident and that was when, yeah, we took it outside.”
When probed by Cohen about the confrontation turning physical, Garth humorously remarked, “Yeah, I’m a Midwestern girl, and I spent some time in Glendale, Arizona.
So, that makes you tough.”
As for the outcome of their clash, Garth disclosed, “The guys that held us back.
So, we never actually (did anything).”
Spelling, a witness to the tense exchange, revealed that she chose to stay in her dressing room during the confrontation, feeling overwhelmed by the escalating situation.
The strained relationship between Garth and Doherty during their time on “90210” is no secret, with Garth attributing this particular altercation to an incident where Doherty supposedly disrespected her by lifting her skirt.
Reflecting on the conflict, Garth remarked, “I’m pretty sure I got in her face, but we’re just both strong Aries women.
We don’t back down — no matter what.”
Doherty, who has faced unfounded rumors of creating disruptions on set, expressed her frustration over the negative press surrounding her involvement in the reboot, emphasizing the challenges that come with being part of television history.
Despite past tensions, both Garth and Spelling expressed their excitement for Doherty’s return to “BH90210,” underscoring her significance to the show’s legacy and their camaraderie.
With the animosity of the past seemingly resolved, fans can anticipate the on-screen chemistry between the original cast when “BH90210” premieres tomorrow at 9 p.m.
ET on Fox.
