Jennifer Lawrence has taken the time to address the rumors circulating about her intentionally consuming smelly foods like tuna and garlic before filming kissing scenes with her Hunger Games co-star Liam Hemsworth.
During a recent appearance on First We Feast's popular hot wing-eating talk show, Hot Ones, the 32-year-old actress discussed comments made by Hemsworth nearly a decade ago regarding her breath.
Disputing Hemsworth's past remarks, Lawrence clarified that she did not deliberately engage in such behavior.
When questioned by host Sean Evans about Hemsworth's allegations, Lawrence responded, stating, “It was not intentional.”
In a 2014 interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon while promoting The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, Hemsworth had disclosed that Lawrence would consume pungent items like garlic or tuna fish before their kissing scenes, which he found unpleasant.
The actor, known for portraying Gale in the successful film series, admitted that sharing intimate scenes with Lawrence, whom he considered a close friend, was awkward due to her choices.
Setting the record straight, Lawrence emphasized that her actions were not meant to affect the quality of their interactions during filming.
Light-heartedly addressing the situation, she remarked, “It was just, like, what I was eating, and then we'd kiss!
He should just, you know, get over it,” accompanied by laughter.
The on-screen chemistry between Lawrence and Hemsworth spanned all four movies of the beloved franchise, which commenced in 2012.
Both actors have expressed mutual admiration for each other in various interviews, with Lawrence even regarding Hemsworth as one of her closest companions.
Notably, Lawrence recently shared her willingness to reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen if given the chance.
