Jennifer Lawrence Opens Up About Challenges of Shooting Red Sparrow n^ked Scenes

Jennifer Lawrence has shared her experience of filming n^ked scenes for her upcoming movie, Red Sparrow, describing it as an “actual nightmare.”

The Hollywood actress is set to grace the screens in the espionage thriller towards the end of the week, with much anticipation surrounding her role that required her to bare it all.

Having previously mentioned the discomfort felt by the crew during the n^de scenes, Lawrence expressed in an interview on Monday (February 26) how daunting it was for her to agree to such demanding scenes for the film.

In Australia's The Today Show, Lawrence confessed, “It was really scary to say yes to the movie because I knew the only way to tell the story is if I agreed to really do the scenes and go full Monty.”

Recounting the moments leading up to filming the scenes, she revealed, “It took a while to say yes – and the night before I didn't sleep at all and I was obviously really nervous because it is the actual nightmare of standing in front of a classroom n^ked.”

However, despite the initial trepidation, Lawrence expressed a sense of empowerment after completing the challenging scenes.

Red Sparrow revolves around Dominika Egorova, portrayed by Lawrence, a former prima ballerina coerced into becoming a seductress in the Russian security service.

She swiftly establishes herself as one of the service's most valuable assets.

In addition to the n^de sequences, Lawrence also had to tackle torture scenes, which she described as emotionally draining to shoot.

“I was terrified,” Lawrence shared.

“I don't think I have ever been so scared of doing a movie before in my life.

It was a lot of firsts for me.”

The film, helmed by Francis Lawrence of Hunger Games fame, boasts a stellar cast including Joel Edgerton as CIA officer Nate Nash, as well as Charlotte Rampling, Jeremy Irons, and Mary Louise Parker.

With its release scheduled for March 2, Red Sparrow promises to captivate audiences with its gripping narrative and powerful performances from the ensemble cast.
