Jim Carrey Faces Accusations of Disease Transmission by Late Ex-Girlfriend in Controversial Note

Renowned actor Jim Carrey is currently embroiled in a legal battle following accusations made by his late ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White.

In a note discovered on her iPad and dated April 8, 2013, White reportedly held Carrey responsible for exposing her to drugs and diseases.

The note was uncovered during a forensic examination conducted by lawyers representing White's former husband Mark Burton and her mother Brigid Sweetman as part of a wrongful death lawsuit against Carrey.

Within the note, White expressed her grievances, stating, “This is what I want, you gave me hsv and hpv, I want you to apologize for it because you care enough to.

I met you, you introduced me to cocaine, prostitutes, mental abuse and disease.

You did good things for me but being with you broke me down as a person, Jim.”

Carrey's legal representative, Ray Boucher, responded to the note by suggesting that it was a fraudulent attempt orchestrated by White and her legal team to extort money from the actor.

Boucher asserted that the note was part of a larger scheme to pressure Carrey into settling based on false claims.

In a retaliatory move, Carrey filed a cross-complaint against Burton, Sweetman, their attorney Filippo Marchino, and The X Law Group.

This legal action came after the group initiated a wrongful death lawsuit against Carrey in 2016, alleging that he had provided White, under the alias Arthur King, with the prescription drugs that led to her suicide in September 2015.

Carrey's cross-complaint contends that between March and August 2013, White, with the support of her attorney, threatened to publicly accuse Carrey of transmitting Herpes I and Herpes II unless he paid her a substantial sum of money.

This legal maneuver by Carrey sheds light on the contentious nature of the accusations surrounding the relationship between Carrey and White.

Tragically, Cathriona White was found deceased in a residence in Sherman Oaks, California on September 28, 2015.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office determined that White had taken her own life through an overdose of various prescription medications, including Ambien, Propanolol, and Percocet (oxycodone).

Carrey, who had attended White's funeral and served as a pallbearer, continues to navigate the legal complexities stemming from the aftermath of her passing.
