Johnny Depp, the renowned actor, has proudly declared his admiration for his ‘rotting' teeth, which have caught the attention of fans.
The 59-year-old recently made an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival after a three-year hiatus from feature films, starring in “Jeanne du Barry.”
In this historical romance, Depp portrays King Louis XV, who himself had to undergo tooth extraction.
After being spotted on the Cannes red carpet, viewers took to Twitter to express their shock and disgust.
Sophia_71_ expressed her fear, stating, “STOP POSTING PICS OF JOHNNY DEPP'S TEETH I AM SO SCARED.”
Twinstar added, “Why do I have to see closeup pics of Johnny Depp's teeth against my will?”
AjMurray21 typed, “Johnny Depp looked disgusting–teeth rotting–in his black suit before Cannes.
Very very disrespectful.”
Cocainecross stated, “Johnny Depp's teeth are literally ROTTING.”
This isn't the first time Depp's teeth have made headlines.
An interview from 1995 resurfaced after fans noticed his stained teeth.
In the interview with Premiere Magazine, he confessed, “I've got loads of cavities.
I had a root canal done eight years ago that's unfinished.
It's like a rotten little stub.”
He further explained, “It's like when the Indians [Native Americans] would make something beaded, they would always put imperfections on it.
I'm proud of these.”
However, Twitter users were not impressed.
Sparrowqld posted, “Even Beetlejuice has better teeth than Johnny Depp, and he's a corpse.”
Depp also claimed that having “perfect teeth” would drive him crazy, stating, “I'd rather swallow a tick than have that!”
Depp's latest film, “Jeanne du Barry,” has received mixed reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with a score of 50 out of 100 on the Tomatometer.
The film was initially licensed for streaming by Netflix France, and it is yet to be announced whether it will be available in the UK.
Describing the film's plot on IMDb, it follows the life of Jeanne Bécu, who was born as the illegitimate daughter of an impoverished seamstress in 1743.
She rises through the Court of Louis XV to become his last official mistress.
