Johnny Depp Shares Thoughts on ‘Awkward’ Kissing Scene with Keira Knightley

In a recent revelation, discussed the uncomfortable nature of his kissing scene with in the Pirates of The Caribbean films.

The second installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, showcased an intimate moment between Depp's Jack Sparrow and Knightley's Elizabeth Swann, leading to an awkward experience for the seasoned actor.

Expressing his feelings during an interview, Depp admitted that engaging in romantic gestures with someone he was not involved with romantically was already awkward.

However, the significant age gap between him and Knightley, who was nearly two decades younger, added another layer of discomfort to the situation.

At the time of filming, Knightley was only 17 years old while Depp was 39, making the scene quite challenging for him.

Despite the awkwardness, Depp commended Knightley for her professionalism, emphasizing that they both fulfilled their roles as required.

Depp further elaborated on the challenges of such scenes, emphasizing that the age difference between him and Knightley amplified the unease he felt.

He described the necessity to proceed with the scene once the cameras started rolling, acknowledging the inherent awkwardness in such scenarios.

Despite the discomfort, the cast persevered to complete the scene efficiently, maintaining a professional demeanor throughout.

In contrast, 's perspective on the kissing scene differed from Depp's discomfort.

In a separate interview, Knightley expressed satisfaction with how the scene unfolded.

She described the experience as delightful, expressing joy and contentment with the outcome of the scene involving Depp.

Knightley also highlighted the unique opportunity to engage romantically with both Depp and in the same film, considering it a dream come true.

Reflecting on the chance to share on-screen chemistry with Depp and Bloom simultaneously, Knightley expressed her gratitude for the experience.

She emphasized the excitement of portraying romantic relationships with both actors within the same movie, considering it a remarkable opportunity.

When questioned about her preference between the two co-stars, Knightley playfully hinted at the favorable experience of kissing , adding a touch of humor to the discussion.
