Hollywood actor Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in films like The Last Black Man in San Francisco and Lovecraft Country, is facing serious accusations of domestic violence.
In March, Majors was arrested for allegedly attacking a girlfriend, and now reports have emerged that the New York Police Department has found probable cause to arrest Majors’ accuser as well.
While the criminal case against Majors is still ongoing, Rolling Stone conducted an extensive investigation and interviewed over 40 people who have known him throughout his career.
These sources claim that Majors has a history of abusive behavior dating back to his time at Yale’s David Geffen School of Drama.
During their investigation, Rolling Stone found that Majors has been described as a complex and unpredictable man, capable of switching from charming to cold in an instant.
Many sources spoke on the condition of anonymity, citing fear of career repercussions and personal retaliation from Majors.
Some even claimed that they were prohibited from speaking out due to non-disclosure agreements.
These sources shared stories of alleged physical, mental, and emotional abuse that occurred during Majors’ time in graduate school and continued onto the sets of his movies and TV shows, where crew members raised concerns about his treatment of others.
According to more than a dozen sources, Majors allegedly abused two romantic partners, physically abusing one and emotionally abusing both.
One woman claimed that Majors strangled her and subjected her to mental and emotional abuse, while a second woman described her relationship with Majors as “emotional torture.”
Multiple sources corroborated details of the alleged abuse, expressing alarm at what they witnessed or were told by the women involved.
Majors’ attorney, Dustin A. Pusch, vehemently denied all allegations, stating that his client denies any instances of abuse.
Pusch argued that the allegations are based on hearsay and that neither of Majors’ romantic partners were willing to engage with Rolling Stone for the article.
However, more than a dozen sources collectively claim that Majors engaged in abusive behavior, and their stories align with the experiences of the alleged victims.
Sources also revealed instances of Majors’ aggressive behavior on set.
During the filming of Magazine Dreams, two production members reported that Majors physically pushed one person and intimidated another by screaming at them.
Executive producers allegedly warned the crew members to give Majors his space.
Majors’ attorney denied these allegations, stating that they are false and that Majors’ acting style may be misconstrued as rudeness at times.
These new allegations come amidst Majors’ ongoing domestic violence case.
A judge has ruled that the case will go to trial starting in August, and Majors has filed his own police complaint against the woman, claiming he was the victim in the dispute.
The NYPD confirmed that the investigation into the initial accuser is ongoing but has not made any additional arrests.
While some sources express little surprise at these allegations, others remark on the stark contrast between Majors’ talent and his alleged abusive behavior.
Rolling Stone’s investigation sheds light on a troubling pattern of abuse surrounding an actor who appeared to be on the verge of a promising career.
