Julianne Moore’s S*x Scene Gives Robert Pattinson a Panic Attack: Behind the Scenes of “Maps to the Stars”

Filming intimate scenes can be a daunting task for actors, and Robert Pattinson had a particularly uncomfortable experience while working with Julianne Moore on the set of “Maps to the Stars” in 2014.

The Batman star found himself feeling embarrassed and anxious during a s*x scene with the Oscar-winning actress.

Pattinson has always been vocal about his reservations regarding s*x scenes in films, despite having appeared in them himself.

His encounter with Moore only intensified his dislike for on-screen lovemaking.

Directed by David Cronenberg, “Maps to the Stars” boasted an impressive cast including John Cusack, Robert Pattinson, Julianne Moore, and Mia Wasikowska.

For Pattinson, it was a dream come true to share the screen with an actress he deeply admired.

However, what started as a thrilling opportunity quickly turned into one of his most embarrassing moments.

The incident took place in Toronto, where the film was being shot amidst scorching heat.

While Pattinson was known for being sweaty, Moore, at 62 years old, didn't sweat at all.

This created an awkward situation between the two actors, and Moore became concerned that the s*x scene was causing Pattinson to have a panic attack.

During an interview, Pattinson shared his experience, saying, “That was the first time I'd met Julianne as well.

It was so hot in Toronto, and she's one of these people… she doesn't sweat at all.

But I sweat like a crazy person.

And I was trying to literally catch drops of sweat from hitting her back.

It was so embarrassing.

Afterwards she was like, ‘Are you OK?

Are you having a panic attack?'

It was so embarrassing.”

This wasn't the first time Pattinson openly discussed his discomfort with s*x scenes in his films.

He previously described a lovemaking scene with Kristen Stewart in “Breaking Dawn” as “ridiculous.”

The actor has always found such scenes to be unnecessary and silly.

On the other hand, Julianne Moore had a different perspective on the incident and found Pattinson to be a delightful co-star.

Moore, in an interview with E News, praised Pattinson, calling him “the loveliest guy” and stating that he surprised her with his humor and easygoing nature on set.

She had expected him to be more serious based on his public persona.

When asked about the steamy sequence, Moore commented, “It was hot back there, though.

In more ways than one.”

Julianne Moore is currently set to star alongside Natalie Portman in the upcoming film “May December,” which will be available for streaming on Netflix starting December 2023.

The movie garnered critical acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival, leading to its acquisition by the streaming giant for $11 million.
