Actor Jeffrey Jones, aged 56, has been arrested by Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detectives following allegations of s**ual misconduct made by a minor in November 2001.
The LAPD received the information and subsequently obtained a search warrant for Jones’ residence, where they seized various items of evidence related to the case.
Over the course of several months, detectives from the Juvenile Division’s s**ually Exploited Child Unit carried out an extensive investigation into the allegations.
Based on the findings of their investigation, a warrant was issued on November 13, 2002, for Jones’ arrest.
The actor turned himself in to LAPD detectives on November 14, 2002, and was booked on the charges.
He was later released on $20,000.00 bail.
Jones is scheduled to appear for arraignment on November 21, 2002, at Division 30 of the Criminal Courts Building located at 210 West Temple Street in Los Angeles.
The LAPD continues to actively investigate the case, working closely with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
