Bobbie Brown, a well-known actress and model recognized for her role in WARRANT’s “Cherry Pie” video, recently shared details about her second book, “Cherry On Top”, co-authored with Caroline Ryder and published by Rare Bird Books last summer.
The book serves as a follow-up to Brown’s 2013 memoir, “Dirty Rocker Boys”.
Brown, who first crossed paths with WARRANT frontman Jani Lane during the filming of the “Cherry Pie” music video, tied the knot with Lane in 1990 and later welcomed a daughter named Taylar Jayne Lane before their divorce in 1993.
Tragically, Lane passed away in August 2011 at the age of 47.
His lifeless body was discovered in a Comfort Inn motel room in Woodland Hills, California, close to Los Angeles, where he had been grappling with alcohol-related issues over the years.
In a candid conversation with Fox News, Brown disclosed that Lane confided in her about a distressing incident from his early career days on the Hollywood Sunset Strip after relocating from Florida.
Lane revealed to Brown that he had been drugged and s–ually assaulted by a member of a prominent heavy metal band and their manager.
This revelation deeply impacted both Brown and Lane, with Brown expressing her sorrow and helplessness upon learning about the trauma that haunted Lane throughout his life.
Reflecting on Lane’s untimely death, Brown acknowledged feeling regretful about not fully comprehending his struggles and emotional turmoil.
She emphasized the importance of recognizing signs of distress and offering support rather than dismissing them, especially considering the societal pressures that hindered Lane from speaking out about his ordeal.
Brown highlighted the challenges faced by men in addressing their emotional pain due to societal expectations of stoicism and strength, which often prevent them from seeking help or discussing past traumas openly.
She lamented the loss of Lane’s talent and the impact of unaddressed emotional scars that eventually led to his demise.
Recalling her time on the reality show “Ex-Wives Of Rock” back in 2012, Brown shared snippets of her journey post-divorce, shedding light on the complexities of relationships and the need for empathy and understanding in dealing with past grievances.
Through her experiences with Lane, she gained insights into the importance of communication and support in navigating the challenges of mental health and emotional well-being.
The narrative of Lane’s struggles serves as a poignant reminder of the silent battles individuals face and the significance of fostering an environment where vulnerability is embraced, and healing can take place.
Brown’s revelations offer a glimpse into the profound impact of past traumas on one’s present and emphasize the need for compassion and empathy in supporting those grappling with inner demons.
