In a recent incident, actress Lindsay Lohan was taken into custody by the authorities after reportedly engaging in a physical altercation with another woman at a nightclub in New York City during the early hours of the morning.
The star known for her roles in movies like Mean Girls and Freaky Friday was apprehended at 4am and formally charged with third-degree assault following the altercation at Club Avenue located in the Chelsea district of Manhattan.
According to the police, Lohan allegedly used her hand to strike the woman in the face, although the victim did not sustain any significant injuries that required medical attention.
Despite numerous attempts to obtain a statement from her representative, no immediate response was received.
This latest arrest adds to a series of encounters Lohan has had with law enforcement in New York.
She is currently under informal probation for an incident where she took a necklace from a jewelry store without permission in the previous year.
While not obligated to report to a judge or probation officer, any further arrests could potentially lead to a prison sentence.
Previously in September, Lohan was involved in a situation where she accused a man of assaulting her in a hotel in New York, but the charges against him were eventually dropped.
Another incident that month involved allegations that she hit a man with her car outside a nightclub, though prosecutors opted not to pursue legal action.
In October, police responded to a disturbance at her childhood residence on Long Island, but no criminal activity was found upon investigation.
Further, Lohan was also engaged in a car accident in California earlier in the year, resulting in her and an assistant being hospitalized, though fortunately, no severe injuries were sustained by anyone involved.
This incident remains subject to ongoing examination.
