In the wee hours of Sunday morning, Lindsay Lohan found herself embroiled in a dispute with a 25-year-old man in her hotel room in New York City.
The argument reportedly stemmed from photos on a mobile device, resulting in a physical altercation where she was either grabbed or thrown, according to an unnamed law enforcement source.
The individual who disclosed this information to The Associated Press chose to remain anonymous as they were not cleared to discuss the incident publicly.
Following the altercation, Christian LaBella, hailing from Valley Village, Calif., was apprehended around 6 a.m.
He is now facing both a misdemeanor assault charge and a harassment charge, being held in custody as of Sunday afternoon with no opportunity for comment.
While authorities confirmed LaBella's arrest, they refrained from disclosing the identity of the other party involved, who is considered the purported victim of the assault.
The source elaborated that Lohan and LaBella had crossed paths earlier at a club that night, though it remains uncertain whether they were acquainted prior to the encounter.
Although Lohan sustained injuries during the incident, she did not require hospitalization, as stated by her publicist, Steve Honig.
In an official statement, Honig affirmed Lohan's cooperation with the ongoing investigation, yet opted not to provide further details on the matter.
Having a history of entanglements with law enforcement, the 26-year-old actress faced accusations just last week for allegedly colliding with a pedestrian outside a nightclub before driving off.
Scheduled to appear in court on October 23, Honig expressed confidence in disproving these claims.
Earlier in the summer, Lohan was involved in a car crash in California that resulted in hospital visits for herself and an assistant, fortunately without serious injuries.
This incident is still subject to investigation, much like the allegations from May when she was accused of hitting a Hollywood nightclub manager with her vehicle.
Despite being free from formal probation obligations after a past incident involving jewelry store theft, Lohan remains under scrutiny.
While she is not required to report to a judge or probation officer regularly, any future arrests could lead to potential incarceration.
Recently, Lohan wrapped up filming for “The Canyons,” a movie penned by Bret Easton Ellis, known for his work on “Less Than Zero.”
