Lindsay Lohan’s Troubles Continue with DUI and Drug Arrest

Actress Lindsay Lohan faced a setback on Monday night leading to her arrest early Tuesday for drunk driving and drug possession, as stated by her lawyer, Blair Berk.

Berk had been using a SCRAM monitoring device to track Lohan's alcohol levels following her time at Malibu's Promises Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility.

Lohan had agreed to wear the bracelet to prove she was moving away from her partying lifestyle.

In a statement released to TMZ.com, Berk acknowledged the challenges of addiction, expressing disappointment over Lindsay's relapse, which led to the removal of the monitoring bracelet.

The arrest occurred after Lohan engaged in a car chase with her personal assistant's mother, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

This incident marked the second time in under two months that Lohan faced DUI investigations in California, shortly after leaving rehab for the second time that year.

Reports from TMZ.com suggest that Lohan has entered rehab for the third time but not at the Promises facility, where she previously sought treatment.

Following her arrest, Lohan was taken into custody near the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium but was later released on bail after posting $25,000.

The police found cocaine in her pocket during a search, alongside failing a field sobriety test and registering a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.

Charged with suspicion of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, possession of cocaine, and transporting narcotics, Lohan could potentially face jail time if convicted.

The arrest came after an altercation between Lohan and the mother of her former assistant, involving a car chase that prompted police intervention.

Lohan's motives for the pursuit remain unclear, with the personal assistant having recently resigned from her position.

Amidst heated exchanges in a civic center parking lot, Lohan and the woman were confronted by authorities, each accompanied by two passengers in their vehicles.

Having completed a rehab program at Promises following a previous incident, Lohan's legal troubles continued with her arrest tied to a hit-and-run case, resulting in a scheduled court appearance for late August.
