A recent lawsuit has been filed against Marilyn Manson, accusing the musician of s**ually assaulting an underage girl on his tour bus and threatening her family if she spoke out about it.
The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous and is referred to as Jane Doe in the lawsuit, claims that Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, assaulted and raped her multiple times between 1995 and 1999.
In addition to Manson, Doe has also brought claims against his former record labels, Interscope Music and Nothing Records.
The lawsuit alleges that the labels were aware of Manson's abusive behavior and actively promoted and profited from it.
They are accused of knowing about his fascination with child p0rn0 and pedophilia and wanting to expose children to s**ual themes.
Karen Barth Menzies, Doe's attorney, stated that this lawsuit not only targets Manson but also holds the record labels accountable for their role in supporting and benefiting from his criminal actions.
She believes it is an indictment of the music industry for fostering a culture that celebrates, protects, and enables s**ual predators.
According to the complaint, Doe first encountered Manson outside a concert venue in Dallas when she was underage.
Manson reportedly asked about the girls' ages, grades in school, and the whereabouts of their parents before inviting Doe and another young girl onto his tour bus.
Once on the bus, Manson allegedly engaged in various acts of criminal s**ual conduct, including forced copulation and vaginal penetration.
The lawsuit describes how one of Manson's band members witnessed the assault while Doe was in pain, scared, upset, humiliated, and confused.
After the assault, Manson threatened to kill Doe and her family if she told anyone about what had happened.
The lawsuit also details further instances of abuse, including another s**ual assault on Manson's tour bus in 1995 and multiple incidents of s**ual coercion and abuse in 1999 when Doe was 19 years old.
Manson's manager allegedly provided Doe with Manson's contact information and encouraged her to stay in touch.
Manson then began calling Doe at home, soliciting explicit s**ual photos from her and her friends.
This lawsuit comes in the wake of other women, including Manson's ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood, coming forward with allegations of abuse against him.
Wood stated on Instagram that Manson started grooming her as a teenager and subjected her to years of horrific abuse.
She expressed her determination to expose Manson and called out the industries that enabled him.
Following these allegations, Manson was dropped by his record label, and several other women filed lawsuits against him.
While two of the lawsuits have been dismissed, a settlement was reached in another case just last week.
Manson has responded by filing a defamation lawsuit against Wood and her girlfriend, accusing them of fabricating the abuse allegations.
If you suspect someone is being abused, it is important to offer support and provide information on safety planning.
Similarly, resources are available for individuals who believe someone is abusive towards their partner.
And for anyone experiencing abuse, there are avenues to seek help.
