Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, found herself in hot water yet again as a Franciscan friar publicly denounced her for her inappropriate behavior during a recent charity event.
Living in Montecito, California, with Prince Harry after stepping back from their roles as senior working members of the royal family over three years ago, the couple attended Kevin Costner's polo field in Santa Barbara for his charity event, 1805 Live, where they mingled with Hollywood's elite including Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.
Despite their star-studded company, reports suggest that Meghan and Harry were largely ignored by the celebrities present.
The situation escalated when the couple was observed blocking Katy Perry's parents in an attempt to secure photo opportunities.
Adding to the controversy, Meghan was seen trying to cozy up to Franciscan friar Larry Goslin of St. Barbara Parish for intimate photos, which raised eyebrows among onlookers.
Father Larry Goslin, a respected figure in the community, was taken aback by Meghan's forwardness as she attempted to kiss him on the cheek and posed closely for pictures.
Given his celibate status as a Catholic priest, Goslin had to assert boundaries with the Duchess, reminding her to maintain a respectful distance.
The situation worsened when Meghan allegedly extended an invitation to the friar to attend her and Harry's upcoming wedding vow renewal, a gesture perceived as disrespectful and inappropriate.
This incident is not the first time Meghan has courted controversy with her actions.
Previously, at the Invictus Games 2023 in Germany, she faced backlash for attempting to kiss a female attendee without consent, causing distress to the individual who had a history of past trauma.
The uncomfortable encounter at Kevin Costner's event further highlighted Meghan's struggles with social etiquette, as captured in viral footage showing her mistakingly reaching for a microphone intended for someone else.
As criticism mounts against Meghan, attention has also turned to the future of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's projects with Netflix.
With 18 months remaining on their lucrative deal, the couple faces pressure to deliver successful content following their departure from Spotify due to underwhelming reception of the Duchess's podcast, Archetypes.
Amidst these challenges, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex navigate a delicate balance between their public image and professional endeavors.
