In a surprising confession, Hollywood actor Michael Douglas has revealed how he and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones keep their 20-year marriage interesting.
The couple, known for their love of golf, have come up with a daring forfeit to spice up their time on the course.
During a recent interview, Michael shared that their competitive nature has led them to create a saucy rule.
“The rules are I have to whip it out if I don't hit it past the ladies' tees, which I manage most of the time,” the 78-year-old actor revealed to The Guardian.
He added, “But there have been times when we're playing alone, and [I] have to give her a little show because we are competitive.
But only when I play with my wife.”
Catherine had previously mentioned this risqué wager during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, but she clarified that it's not just her husband who participates in the game.
“I'm pretty good, better than [Michael], and we have a bet that if he ducks a shot, he has to drop his pants,” she explained on the BBC One show.
“It's not just my husband, it's any man I play.
There has been an issue with paparazzi, so I make him go into the bushes.
A deal is a deal.”
The couple's love for golf is evident, and they often enjoy playing together.
They first met at the Deauville Film Festival in 1998, although Catherine wasn't immediately won over by Michael's charms.
“I met her in the bar and was a total gentleman,” Michael shared during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2016.
However, he made his move later that night, jokingly telling Catherine, “You know, I'm going to be the father of your children.”
Catherine's response was witty and straightforward: “I've heard a lot about you, and I've seen a lot about you, and I think it's time that I say goodnight.”
Reflecting on their first meeting, Catherine humorously mentioned in an interview with Access Hollywood in 2019, “You know what the worst thing is?…
He was right.”
The couple tied the knot in November 2000, exchanging vows during an extravagant ceremony at the New York Plaza Hotel.
With their adventurous spirit and strong bond, Michael and Catherine continue to keep their marriage exciting.
Their unique approach to spicing up their golf games adds a fun twist to their already thriving relationship.
As they navigate through their shared love for the sport, they also manage to maintain a sense of playfulness and passion that has kept their marriage going strong for over two decades.
