In a surprising turn of events, Michael Lohan, the father of Lindsay Lohan, has been arrested in Palm Beach County, Florida.
The 60-year-old is facing six charges of patient brokering, as revealed by inmate records at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
According to NBC News, Lohan stands accused of bringing individuals struggling with addiction to drug treatment centers in Florida and receiving illegal kickbacks in return.
It has been reported that he was paid over $25,000 through various checks.
State Attorney Dave Aronberg, speaking to NBC News, emphasized the seriousness of the allegations.
He stated, “Mr. Lohan was investigated by our Sober Homes Task Force, and he's being charged with receiving kickbacks for referring patients to drug treatment.”

In February 2020, he was arrested on charges of assaulting his wife, Kate Major.

He was subsequently charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, as well as harassment in the second degree.
When questioned about the incident, Lohan vehemently denied the allegations, telling PEOPLE, “I adamantly denied that ever happened.”
This event marked a significant strain on their relationship, as Major filed for divorce from Lohan in 2018, just weeks after she herself had been arrested for an assault involving a glass candle.
