It has been four decades since the tragic death of Hollywood icon Natalie Wood on a yacht, and her sister Lana Wood now claims to have uncovered the truth behind the mysterious incident.
Natalie Wood's journey in the entertainment industry began at a young age when she captivated audiences as a child actor in the classic film “Miracle on 34th Street” at just 8 years old.
Her talent shone through as she starred in numerous films, most notably portraying Maria in “West Side Story,” earning her four Golden Globes and three Oscars throughout her illustrious career.
The untimely demise of the star occurred at the age of 45 while on a boating excursion with her husband, Robert Wagner.
Despite suspicions surrounding the circumstances of her death, Wagner was never formally charged, even after being identified as a person of interest by authorities in 2018.
In a shocking revelation detailed in her book titled “Little Sister: My Investigation into the Mysterious Death of Natalie Wood,” Lana Wood alleges that Wagner was responsible for her sister's death, claiming it was the result of a violent outburst fueled by alcohol.
Natalie Wood's lifeless body was discovered off the coast of Catalina Island in California, initially ruled as an accidental drowning by authorities.
However, over time, additional testimonies and increased scrutiny have cast doubt on the official narrative.
According to Lana Wood, tensions between Natalie and Wagner escalated dramatically during their trip to Catalina, culminating in a series of intense arguments.
In her book, Lana recounts a tumultuous evening aboard the yacht, highlighting a confrontation involving Wagner brandishing a broken wine bottle at actor Christopher Walken, who was also present.
Subsequently, Natalie retreated to her room following the altercation.
Furthermore, Lana alleges that Natalie was s–ually assaulted by actor Kirk Douglas, recounting a distressing incident that occurred in 1955 around the filming of “The Searchers.”
The encounter, arranged by their mother Maria Zakharenko, left Natalie visibly distraught and shaken, revealing a darker side to Hollywood's glittering facade.
Douglas himself was known for his philandering ways and extramarital affairs, with actress and dancer Neile Adams acknowledging his predatory behavior in a candid interview.
As revelations continue to surface, shedding light on the complexities of Natalie Wood's life and tragic demise, the truth remains elusive.
