In a recent court decision, actress Paula Patton has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband, singer Robin Thicke.
The order comes after Patton accused Thicke of domestic violence during their ongoing custody dispute over their 6-year-old son.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Patton requested the restraining order on Wednesday, asking that Thicke be kept at least 100 yards away from her, their son Julian, and her mother Joyce Patton.
Her attorney, Larry Bakman, stated that Patton feared for her safety and the safety of her child.
Patton's declaration detailed allegations of physical and emotional abuse, infidelity, and drug and alcohol addiction against Thicke.
Thicke's attorney, Angela Pierce di Donato, responded to the accusations, claiming that Patton had never reported any domestic violence until she violated the custody orders.
In her request, Patton recounted several instances of alleged abuse, including an incident in April 2013 where Thicke became physically violent with her after she interrupted his “massage.”
She also claimed that Thicke hit her with a closed fist and pushed her to the ground during an argument at the Cannes Film Festival that same year.
Patton attributed Thicke's behavior, infidelity, and substance abuse as the reasons for their separation in 2014 and eventual divorce in 2015.
She revealed that she had discovered Thicke in bed with two n^ked women after the MTV VMAs in 2013.
The couple had previously agreed upon a physical custody arrangement for Julian, with Thicke having visitation rights on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
However, Patton recently filed documents expressing concerns about Thicke's drinking, drug use, and disciplinary actions towards their son.
Thicke's lawyer claimed that the physical abuse allegations against Thicke were unfounded and that an emotional abuse allegation had been made against Patton.
The investigation by DCFS is ongoing, with a source close to the situation stating that no new investigation into Patton has been opened.
Patton further expressed her concerns about Thicke's time with Julian, citing his history of violence and substance abuse as potential dangers.
She recounted an incident on January 19, where Thicke attempted to pick up Julian and caused her to fear for her safety.
Julian was reportedly upset and asked to call 911 after the encounter.
Thicke disputed Patton's version of events, stating that he had not seen his son since then.
A nanny who has worked for the couple for six years supported Thicke in a declaration, claiming that she had never found his spankings of Julian to be excessive.
Another nanny had previously supported Patton, claiming that she witnessed Thicke smoking marijuana around their son.
The judge has awarded sole legal and physical custody of Julian to Patton until the next hearing, with supervised visitation for Thicke three days a week at a neutral location.
