Eddie Redmayne, aged 39, is set to make a television appearance on the Graham Norton Show at 10.35 pm on BBC One, alongside Irish actor Jessie Buckley.
The duo will be promoting their upcoming West End performance of the musical ‘Cabaret' at London's Playhouse Theatre, scheduled to debut on November 15, a classic piece that first graced the stage back in 1966.
The star-studded lineup on the talk show features comedian and writer Stephen Merchant, Strictly sensation Motsi Mabuse, and the esteemed actor Ian McKellen, who is currently showcasing his talent in The Cherry Orchard.
Musical talents Elton John and Charlie Puth will also grace the stage, performing ‘After All' from Elton's latest creation, ‘The Lockdown Sessions'.
Eddie rose to prominence following his remarkable portrayal of astrophysicist Stephen Hawking in the 2014 film ‘Theory of Everything', which earned him an Academy Award.
Notably, he garnered multiple accolades for his exceptional performance, followed by an OBE bestowed by Her Majesty at Windsor Castle the subsequent year.
Eddie's acquaintance with Prince William dates back to their school days.
In a candid moment during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in November 2018, Eddie reminisced about playing rugby with the young Prince at Eton College.
Reflecting on those times, Eddie expressed empathy towards William, noting how opponents were eager to tackle the Prince during matches, providing moments of amusement for those around him.
Both Eddie and Prince William were classmates at Eton College and graduated in the year 2000.
Following this, Prince William pursued higher education at the University of St Andrews, where he crossed paths with his future wife, Kate Middleton, now the Duchess of Cambridge.
Meanwhile, Eddie delved into the study of Art History at Trinity College, Cambridge, culminating in his graduation with Honours in 2003.
While Eddie did not delve into the depth of his relationship with the Prince, their camaraderie was showcased publicly at the Cambridge County Polo Club in July 2015, shortly after Eddie's Oscar recognition.
Recalling his unforgettable encounter with Queen Elizabeth II, Eddie described the experience as “absolutely wonderful” and humbling.
The investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, adorned with Christmas decorations, left a lasting impression on the actor, who was honored to receive the prestigious OBE from the Queen.
During the same ceremony, astronaut Major Tim Peake was recognized for his contributions to space research and scientific education, an event that added to the grandeur of the occasion.
The bond between Eddie Redmayne and the British royal family, particularly Prince William, highlights shared experiences and encounters that have shaped their paths in unique ways, transcending beyond mere acquaintanceship into a realm marked by mutual respect and admiration.
