Prince Edward Named Royal Patron of Reading Rep Theatre

Prince Edward has made a significant announcement regarding his new role as the Royal Patron of Reading Rep Theatre, a prominent cultural institution in Berkshire.

The Earl of Wessex, who previously worked in theatre and television production before joining the in 2002, expressed his excitement about this new position close to his heart.

Paul Stacey, the founding artistic director of Reading Rep, warmly welcomed Prince Edward to his new role as Royal Patron.

Mr. Stacey expressed his immense honor in having the Earl of Wessex associated with Reading Rep Theatre, which was established a decade ago and recently expanded with a state-of-the-art 163-seat theatre and cultural center.

Prince Edward is set to visit Reading to launch the Reading Rep's Corporate Partnership Scheme, symbolizing the commencement of his patronage.

This initiative underscores Prince Edward's commitment to supporting various arts and cultural organizations, with Reading Rep being the latest beneficiary of his patronage.

Apart from Reading Rep, Prince Edward has extended his sponsorship to numerous renowned cultural entities such as the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, London Mozart Players, and National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, among others.

Notably, the Production Guild of Great Britain recently announced the establishment of an annual prize named after Prince Edward, recognizing outstanding contributions to inclusivity in UK television and film production.
