Prince George’s Endearing Moniker for Father Prince William

In a delightful revelation during a visit to Leicester in 2018, shared a heartwarming anecdote about her three children – , , and – affectionately referring to their father with a unique nickname.

According to a bystander named Fiona Sturgess, Kate mentioned that William engaged in a football game with the kids the previous evening, prompting one of them, likely George, to inquire, “Are you playing football tomorrow, Pops?”

The special bond between and his father, , is evident, accentuated by their striking resemblance.

Not only does impart knowledge about royal duties to his eldest son, who stands third in line to the throne, but he also involves George in various royal engagements.

Accompanying his parents on royal tours from infancy, including a trip to Australia and New Zealand at just 9 months old, George has been an active participant in family traditions such as the annual Christmas church visit.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, he organized a cake sale to raise funds for Tusk, a charity championed by Prince William since 2005, dedicated to safeguarding endangered species in Africa.

Sharing similar interests with his father, Prince George exhibits a fervent passion for soccer, demonstrated by his attendance at the Euro 2020 tournament alongside his parents.

Furthermore, he made a charming debut at Wimbledon this past summer, reminiscent of Prince William's initial visit to the renowned tennis event with Princess Diana decades ago.

Among the endearing titles bestowed upon Prince William by his children, penned a touching message to her late grandmother, addressing her father as “Papa.”

Similarly, during a tour of Kate's garden at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019, William affectionately referred to Charlotte as “Mignonette,” a term denoting smallness and sweetness in French.

Notably, Kate has also affectionately called Charlotte by the name “Lottie,” reaffirming the family's penchant for endearing monikers.

This practice of using pet names extends beyond immediate family, as observed when Kate referred to as “grandpa” during last year's G-7 summit.

Despite royal protocol dictating formal address, encounters with Prince William and Kate have been reported to be relaxed and amicable.

During a visit to Wales earlier this year, the couple was addressed casually as “Kate” and “Will” at Abergavenny Market, reflecting their down-to-earth demeanor amidst their royal status.
