Prince Philip Advised Prince Harry Against Marrying Meghan Markle

A recent report has shed light on Prince Philip's opinions about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship.

Known for his blunt and sometimes racially insensitive remarks, Queen Elizabeth's husband reportedly discouraged his grandson from marrying the American actress.

The Sunday Times revealed that when Philip realized the seriousness of Harry's relationship with Meghan, he expressed his disapproval by saying, “One steps out with actresses, one doesn't marry them.”

This comment, although harsh, did not deter the couple, as they got engaged in November 2017 and tied the knot just over a year later.

Interestingly, this is not the first time a member of the royal family has been involved in a controversial relationship with an American-born actress.

In the early 1980s, Prince Philip's son, Andrew, the Duke of York, had a passionate affair with Koo Stark, a young actress.

The Queen reportedly took a liking to Koo, but their relationship came to an end when a scandalous n^de shower scene from one of her early films was exposed by the press.

Despite the affair's conclusion and Andrew's subsequent marriage and divorce to Sarah Ferguson (also known as Fergie), who has had ongoing conflicts with Prince Philip, he remained in contact with Koo and even became the godfather to her daughter.

In 2016, Koo Stark wrote an open letter to Meghan Markle, which was published in the Daily Mail.

The purpose of the letter was to warn Meghan about the pressures she would face while dating a royal.

Koo advised Meghan to be cautious about her public image, including her actions, attire, and associations.

According to Koo, Meghan's behavior now reflects on Prince Harry and is comparable to the responsibilities of an ambassador or a celebrity endorsed by an international luxury brand.

Koo emphasized the importance of not offending anyone.

Furthermore, Koo Stark warned Meghan about the relentless media scrutiny she would face and cautioned her that the royal family and their staff may not offer substantial assistance.

Although Koo advised Meghan to seek advice from the palace, she expressed skepticism about receiving genuine professional help until the day she officially became a part of the royal family.

Despite the initial reservations and warnings, Prince Harry went against Prince Philip's advice and married Meghan Markle.
