Princess Catherine graced the launch event of the UK India Year of Culture at Buckingham Palace on 27 February 2017, alongside members of the British Royal Family.
The initiative commemorates the profound cultural connections between the two nations and marks the 70th anniversary of India's independence through a series of events and exhibitions spanning a year in both countries.
The reception was a vibrant amalgamation of British and Indian cultural richness and artistic flair, with a distinguished gathering of eminent personalities from various fields such as performing arts, fashion, food, literature, and sports.
Among the notable attendees were Kunal Nayyar, Neha Kapoor, Ayesha Dhaka, Kapil Dev, Rio Ferdinand, Anoushka Shankar, and Jo Wright.
A highlight of the evening was the showcase of items from the Royal Collection, including artifacts from past royal visits to India, as well as exquisite Indian gifts and manuscripts from the Royal Library.
The display served as a testament to the enduring bond between the two nations.
For the occasion, Princess Catherine opted for a dazzling ensemble by Erdem, donning the designer's exquisite Rona metallic floral lace dress.
The pleated attire, crafted from captivating metallic lace, featured a round neckline, semi-sheer sleeves, button cuffs, and a cinched waist, exuding elegance and sophistication.
Complementing her attire, Princess Catherine adorned a new pair of striking shoes designed by Oscar de la Renta.
The Platinum Lame Cabrinha Pumps, a revamped version of the classic Cabrinha Pumps, boasted a lustrous Platinum Lame fabric, meticulously crafted in Italy.
With a 100mm heel, pointed toe, scalloped sides, and raised back, the shoes added a touch of glamour to her ensemble.
