In a shocking revelation, Jennifer Lee Pryor, the widow of renowned comedian Richard Pryor, has confirmed claims made by music producer Quincy Jones that Pryor and actor Marlon Brando had an affair.
The news first came to light in 2018 during a series of candid interviews conducted by Jones.
While some have questioned the validity of these claims, Pryor's widow has come forward to support Jones' statements.
During a conversation with Vulture, Jones described his close friendship with Brando and made the bold assertion that Brando would sleep with anyone, including Pryor.
When asked how he knew this information, Jones responded by saying that Brando simply did not care about societal norms or restrictions.
In another interview with GQ, Jones referred to Brando as a brother and recounted a period in the 1980s when he stayed on Brando's private island in Tahiti during a difficult time.
Jones mentioned that they engaged in various activities and partied extensively together.
Jennifer Lee Pryor, who was married to Richard Pryor twice, spoke out following Jones' interview.
She expressed that Pryor would find humor in the claims made by Jones and would not be ashamed of his actions.
She even added a touch of humor herself by stating, “It was the '70s!
Drugs were still good, especially quaaludes.
If you did enough cocaine, you'd [expletive] a radiator and send it flowers in the morning.”
In her own interview with Vulture, Lee Pryor shed further light on the alleged relationship between Pryor and Brando.
She stated that it was likely a one-time occurrence that happened after a night of partying.
Lee Pryor revealed that Pryor's diaries, which she planned to publish, contained accounts of his “bisexual experiences.”
She emphasized that Pryor never labeled himself as bisexual but was open about his sexuality.
Lee Pryor also clarified in an interview with People that the encounter between Pryor and Brando was not an affair but rather a “dalliance.”
She explained that Pryor had similar experiences with other men but ultimately preferred relationships with women.
Richard's daughter, Rain Pryor, disputed these claims on Facebook, denying that her father had any s**ual involvement with Brando.
She criticized Lee Pryor for perpetuating what she considered to be false information.
Miko Brando, Marlon Brando's son, also weighed in on the controversy.
In a statement to TMZ, he expressed disappointment over Quincy Jones' comments and defended both his father and Richard Pryor.
Brando himself had previously spoken about his sexuality, stating that he had no shame in his past homosexual experiences.
While the allegations of an affair between Richard Pryor and Marlon Brando continue to fuel debate and speculation, it is clear that there are conflicting accounts from those closest to the individuals involved.
As the public seeks to uncover the truth behind these claims, it is important to remember the complexity of human relationships and the nuances of individual experiences.
