Richard Pryor’s Widow Opens Up About His Relationship with Marlon Brando

Richard Pryor, the late comedian, was unapologetic about his affair with actor Marlon Brando, according to his widow.

Jennifer Lee Pryor, who was married to Pryor twice, spoke about their relationship at the world premiere screening of the documentary I Am Richard Pryor at South by Southwest.

Last year, she confirmed the affair after musician Quincy Jones mentioned it in an interview with Vulture.

Jones had described Brando as a charismatic individual who would engage in intimate relationships with anyone.

He even mentioned that Brando used to go cha-cha dancing with them and was an incredible dancer.

Jennifer Lee Pryor then added that her husband was openly bisexual within his circle of friends, especially during the drug-fueled '70s.

Despite Jennifer Lee Pryor's statements, one of Pryor's children from a previous marriage denied the existence of a s**ual relationship between Pryor and Brando and criticized Jennifer for her claims.

In response to these criticisms, Jennifer defended her statements at the SXSW event, asserting that Richard would have discussed it openly if he were alive today and would have supported Quincy Jones amidst the backlash.

In addition to the affair with Brando, Jennifer revealed that Richard had a brief relationship with a transgender woman.

However, he lost interest after she underwent gender-confirmation surgery.

She also mentioned that Richard addressed his s**ual encounters with men in his stand-up routines.

Jennifer shared an incident from a 1977 gay rights benefit show at the Hollywood Bowl, where Richard openly admitted to performing oral s** on a man.

However, he later became confrontational with the audience, highlighting the lack of black attendees and drawing a distinction between the struggles faced by the black community and the LGBTQ+ community.

Although his language was hostile, Jennifer understood that Richard was expressing his understanding of the LGBTQ+ community's experiences.

The documentary I Am Richard Pryor will air on the Paramount Network on Friday at 10 p.m. Eastern time.
