Robin Williams’ Ex-Wife Valerie Velardi Shares Insights on His Infidelity Before Relationship Shift

Valerie Velardi, the first wife of the late Hollywood icon Robin Williams, has candidly revealed details about his unfaithfulness, suggesting she comprehended his quest for affection from other women.

Married to Williams from 1978 to 1988, Velardi expressed in a newly released documentary, “Come Inside My Mind,” that she acknowledged her former spouse's strong affinity for the opposite s**.

In reflections on their decade-long marriage, she recounted how they first crossed paths and how she was captivated by his allure.

Velardi shared, “He adored women.

He truly adored them.

And I grasped it.

I wanted him to explore that love, but I also yearned for his return home.”

Their initial encounter dates back to 1976, prior to Williams' rise to fame as an actor and comedian.

Velardi reminisced, “He was tending bar, exuding a French accent, inviting me for a drink, engaging in charming conversation.

He requested a lift home, playfully bantered in French, and we shared a kiss.

I immediately sensed our paths would cross again.”

Following the birth of their son Zachary in April 1983, Williams parted ways with Velardi for Marsha Garces, who served as their son's caregiver.

The divorce between Velardi and Williams transpired in 1988, leading to his subsequent marriage to Garces in 1989.

Together, they welcomed their first child, daughter Zelda, in 1991.

Despite expanding their family with the arrival of son Cody in November 1991, Williams and Garces eventually separated in 2010 following Garces' divorce filing in 2008 due to insurmountable differences.

Williams exchanged vows with Susan Schneider, his third spouse, in October 2011, and they remained united until his tragic passing in 2014.

The celebrated actor had been grappling with a Parkinson's diagnosis, a factor that Schneider asserted played a role in his untimely death.
