Rod Stewart, the legendary musician known for his music prowess and larger-than-life persona, is currently reconnecting with his daughter whom he had to give up for adoption in his teenage years.
Before amassing wealth and fame, the seven-time father faced the challenging decision to place his daughter, Sarah Streeter, up for adoption due to financial constraints.
In a candid conversation with Joy Behar, Rod Stewart revealed that he was financially destitute at the time of Sarah's birth, leaving him with no alternative but to opt for adoption when he was around 17 or 18 years old.
Despite the circumstances surrounding her adoption, Stewart expressed a desire to rebuild his relationship with his long-lost daughter.
Throughout the years, Stewart had intermittent communication with his now 46-year-old daughter, but their bond strengthened following the passing of her adoptive parents, which prompted them to bridge the gap between them.
Reflecting on their evolving connection, Stewart mentioned, “Since her mom and dad have died, we've tried to come together and be close together, and it's working out pretty well.”
Currently expecting a child with his wife Penny, Stewart has a total of seven children, including Sarah Streeter, showcasing his deep-rooted commitment to family despite the challenges they may have faced in the past.
Sarah Streeter, shedding light on her perspective, shared with the Daily Mail her growing familiarity with her father through regular phone calls and family gatherings.
She emphasized that there is no resentment harbored towards Stewart, stating, “There's no anger there… Now we're at the start of a new chapter, and that's wonderful.”
