Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who inked a significant agreement with Netflix back in 2020 subsequent to their withdrawal from the royal family, have recently reached out to the streaming service as their contract approaches its end.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined forces with Netflix following their decision to step down as senior royals and have so far delivered two documentaries for the platform.
Their presence at the premiere of Paramount Pictures' Bob Marley, One Love movie on Tuesday night marked their initial public appearance of 2024, where they were seen sharing smiles with Paramount and Nickelodeon CEO Brian Robbins, possibly hinting at a plethora of opportunities awaiting them as they ponder over their future choices.
Sources suggest that Meghan and Harry are actively engaged in developing multiple projects for the streaming platform, although no official announcements or release dates have been disclosed to the public yet.
Criticism regarding the couple's level of productivity was voiced by royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams during an interview with GB News.
Fitzwilliams expressed his viewpoint, emphasizing the necessity for the duo to enhance their output, stating that apart from their involvement with Invictus, a project already associated with Prince Harry, their endeavors seem rather limited.
With the setback faced by their Spotify deal last year, questions arise regarding the fate of their collaboration with Netflix, set to conclude in 2025.
The absence of any updates or communication from the couple has left many bewildered.
In a turn of events last June, it was announced that the Sussexes' partnership with Spotify for the production of Meghan's Archetypes podcast had been terminated.
Reports indicated that Spotify executives were underwhelmed by the content of the series, which aimed to dissect common stereotypes faced by women.
Following the cancellation, Bill Simmons, Spotify's head of podcast innovation and monetization, openly criticized the couple, expressing regret for not being part of the negotiation process that led to their departure.
