In the latest polls, Prince William and Princess Catherine have solidified their positions as two of the most beloved members of the royal family in the UK.
YouGov's report on the most popular public figures for Q3 2023 showcases a dominance of royal family members in the rankings, following a year filled with significant events such as a widely-watched coronation, the release of two explosive books, and a growing level of public scrutiny.
The survey highlights that four out of the top five most popular public figures in the UK are royals, with former US President Barack Obama being the highest-rated non-royal at number four.
Surprisingly, King Charles III and Queen Camilla did not make it to the top-rated list of royals.
Instead, the fifth spot was claimed by Zara Tindall, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and a niece of King Charles III.
Zara, known for her accomplishments in equestrian sports, clinched a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics.
Zara Tindall's popularity stems not only from her sporting achievements but also from her life outside the royal realm, where she has garnered a positive opinion from 54% of the public.
Her mother, Anne, Princess Royal, also enjoys immense popularity, with 64% of respondents holding her in high regard.
Princess Anne, an Olympian herself, made history as the first British royal family member to compete in the Olympic Games back in 1976.
Claiming the third spot in the rankings is Prince William, the future heir to the throne, who received a commendable 69% positive rating.
Despite facing publicized conflicts with his brother, Prince Harry, Prince William has managed to maintain his popularity.
His wife, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, surpassed him in the rankings, securing the second position.
Catherine has been lauded for seamlessly adapting to royal life since her marriage to Prince William in 2011, reflected in her impressive 71% positive rating.
At the pinnacle of the rankings stands Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history, who continues to be the most revered royal and public figure in the UK even after her passing.
An overwhelming 80% of the population holds a favorable opinion of the late Queen, attributing her with bringing stability to the nation post-World War II and during times of significant social change.
Despite facing online criticism and negative press coverage, Prince William and Princess Catherine have defied the odds and maintained their popularity among the British public.
In contrast, speculations have arisen regarding Meghan Markle's aspirations to become the Queen of the United Kingdom, with claims suggesting that she admires the qualities possessed by the Princess of Wales.
Tom Bauer alleged that Meghan Markle envisions herself in a similar role to Princess Catherine, embodying the attributes she desires.
