In a shocking turn of events, renowned actor Russell Crowe found himself in hot water after allegedly assaulting a hotel desk clerk with a telephone.
The incident took place in the early hours of the morning at the Mercer Hotel in SoHo, where Crowe was staying to promote his latest film.
According to the police, the altercation occurred when Crowe became frustrated with his inability to connect with his wife in Australia.
Unable to contain his anger, he directed his fury towards a desk clerk in the hotel lobby.
In a fit of rage, Crowe hurled the telephone at the employee, causing a cut below his right eye.
