In a candid revelation, Sally Field has opened up about her romance with the late Burt Reynolds, shedding light on a relationship that was far from the fairy tale it may have seemed.
During a recent interview with Variety, Field delved into her connection with Reynolds, whom she first encountered on the set of their collaborative project, the 1977 film “Smokey and the Bandit,” and engaged in an intermittent five-year affair.
Contrary to any romanticized notions, Field now discloses that Reynolds, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 82, was not a positive presence in her life.
Describing him as someone she could not tolerate, she expressed, “He simply wasn't a good influence on me in any aspect.
He had convinced himself that I held greater significance in his life than I truly did, which was not the case.” She added, “His desire was merely for something he lacked, a notion I found unsettling.”
In her memoir titled “In Pieces” from 2018, Field portrayed Reynolds as controlling, an assertion she reiterated
