Scientology Accused of Spying on Nicole Kidman and Tapping Her Phone

The leaders of the controversial religious movement were reportedly concerned that Kidman might pull Cruise away from the church, prompting them to resort to extreme measures.

Rinder reveals that Cruise, a prominent figure within Scientology, began to ignore calls from church leader David Miscavige during the filming of the movie “Eyes Wide Shut” in London in 1997.

This allegedly raised suspicions, leading Miscavige to order the tapping of Kidman's phone.

The church also appointed Marty Rathbun, a former high-ranking official, to facilitate the couple's separation and to audit Cruise in order to reinforce his commitment to Scientology.

According to Rinder, Rathbun collaborated with Hollywood lawyer Bert Fields to hire infamous private investigator Anthony Pellicano to spy on Kidman and tap her phone.

Pellicano later served time in prison for wiretapping and other crimes.

Rinder claims that these tactics ultimately succeeded in drawing Cruise back into the fold of Scientology.

However, this renewed dedication to the church created a divide between Cruise and Kidman, ultimately leading to their divorce in 2001.

Rinder suggests that Miscavige was pleased with the outcome, as he believed that Kidman's departure would no longer distract Cruise from Scientology.

Following the divorce, Cruise became even more vocal in his support of the church.

The Church of Scientology has denied the allegations of phone tapping and accused Rinder of being a habitual liar.

Representatives for Kidman, Cruise, and the church have yet to comment on the claims made in Rinder's book.

However, these allegations are not entirely new, as Rathbun previously discussed his role in facilitating the breakup between Kidman and Cruise in the 2015 documentary “Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief.”

Rinder also asserts that Rathbun influenced Cruise and Kidman's two adopted children, Isabella and Connor, to distance themselves from their mother and become more involved in Scientology.

The church reportedly discourages close relationships with individuals outside the faith, known as suppressive persons.

This strained Kidman's relationship with her children, and she was even unable to attend her daughter's wedding in 2015 due to their affiliation with Scientology.

It has been rumored that Kidman blames Scientology for the breakdown of her marriage and the separation from her children.

In her book “Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology,” ex-Scientologist Leah Remini claimed that Kidman was labeled a suppressive person by the church after leaving.

Despite the difficulties, Kidman has expressed unconditional love for her children and respects their choices.

In a separate but related development, it has been reported that Tom Cruise attempted to lure David Beckham into visiting the Church of Scientology by building a professional-grade football pitch at the church's headquarters.

According to sources, Cruise wanted to introduce famous faces like Beckham to Scientology, but the visit never materialized.

Mike Rinder, who detailed the alleged construction in his book, has been branded an inveterate liar by the church.
