Selena Gomez, the 27-year-old singer behind “Lose You to Love Me,” shared a remarkably honest story during her recent appearance on U.K.'s KISS FM.
In a segment called “Liar, Liar,” where she had to recount two false stories and one true anecdote about her life, Gomez admitted to an embarrassing incident that occurred before attending Ed Sheeran's concert.
Gomez recalled the time when she and her friends were excitedly heading to a concert by Ed Sheeran at the Hollywood Bowl, only to be met with heavy traffic.
As the discomfort grew, Gomez humorously gestured to the lower part of her body, indicating that she was feeling quite uncomfortable down there.
She confessed, “So I will say that it was the first time that I had maybe soiled my pants a bit.”
Despite the mishap, Gomez was determined not to miss the concert.
She cleverly improvised by placing a sweater underneath her, ensuring she could make it through the show.
Laughingly, she disclosed that this incident took place in the car while she was in the company of her friends.
“Just so you know, I've never told anyone that,” she added, confirming the truthfulness of her story.
“I can't wait to see the headlines on this one.”
When asked about Ed Sheeran's potential reaction to her revelation, Gomez replied, “Honestly, he's probably like, ‘That's fine.
Good for her.'”
During the same interview, Gomez also spoke about her close friendship with Taylor Swift.
She revealed that the 30-year-old pop star was one of the first people to witness her new music.
Recalling the moment when she played the music video for “Lose You to Love Me” for Swift, Gomez described it as an incredibly special experience due to their longstanding friendship.
Gomez shared that both Taylor and her mother, Andrea Swift, became emotional while watching the music video for the first time.
“Her and her mom just started crying — like just tears and tears,” Gomez recalled.
Reflecting on the profound impact of the moment, she said, “It's gonna make me cry thinking about it because it wasn't about just how great the song was … it was just that they had been on that journey with me intimately.
They were crying because they were proud of me for stepping into a whole new era of my life.”
As she spoke about moving past difficult experiences and emotional turmoil, Gomez expressed gratitude for Taylor and her mother's heartfelt response.
It was a touching moment that highlighted the deep connection between the two artists.
Selena Gomez's candid revelation and heartfelt friendship with Taylor Swift remind us that even celebrities can have relatable and vulnerable moments.
