Simon Cowell Regrets Affair with Friend’s Wife and Fatherhood Changes Him Forever

In a candid interview with the Mail on Sunday Event magazine, Simon Cowell opens up about his affair with his best friend’s wife and the guilt he feels over his actions.

Known for his self-confidence and ability to get what he wants, Cowell admits that he is “not proud” of how he got his friend’s wife pregnant.

The affair between Cowell and Lauren Silverman, now his partner, is believed to have started in 2009 when she was still married to millionaire property developer Andrew Silverman.

The affair became public in July 2013 when news broke of Lauren’s pregnancy.

Cowell vividly recalls being told about the pregnancy by an assistant who urgently called him out of a meeting.

Cowell admits that the pregnancy was not planned, but when he went to the first scan with Lauren, he felt a strong sense of protectiveness towards both her and the baby.

He affectionately referred to the baby as “Tad” because he looked like a tadpole.

This experience made Cowell realize how much he wanted to be a father.

Fatherhood has changed Cowell in profound ways, and he shares touching insights into his new family life.

While he is not a “conventional dad,” he adores his son Eric and they share many joyful moments together.

Cowell has taught Eric to share, say please and thank you, and even offers whatever Eric has to him.

In addition to discussing his personal life, Cowell talks about the future of his flagship show, The X Factor.

Despite plummeting ratings and criticism, Cowell remains optimistic and determined to learn from past mistakes.

He acknowledges that the audience should be able to hear the acts and the judges and promises that it will never be as bad as before.

Cowell also reflects on the recent death of his mother, Julie, who was a driving force in his career and always there for him.

Her passing has deeply affected him, and he confesses that he wasn’t prepared for life without her.

Losing his mother at the same time as becoming a father has changed him significantly, and he continues to navigate through this difficult period.

Despite his estimated fortune of over £355 million, Cowell expresses his inclination to give to good causes rather than leaving it all to his son.

He believes that passing down wealth from generation to generation is “disgusting” and credits his own drive and energy to having nothing to lose.

In this revealing interview, Simon Cowell bares his soul and shows a vulnerable side rarely seen by the public.

He confronts his past mistakes, embraces fatherhood, and reflects on the impact his mother’s death has had on him.

Cowell’s honesty and personal growth make for an engaging and thought-provoking read.
