At a press conference in Los Angeles led by attorney Lisa Bloom, two women spoke out about their allegations of rape and s–ual assault against actor Steven Seagal.
Regina Simons, an actress, revealed that Seagal allegedly raped her when she was just 18 years old and working as an extra on his film “On Deadly Ground” in 1994.
Another accuser, former model Faviola Dadis, stated that Seagal groped her during an audition in 2002, prompting her to file a police report recently.
Simons recounted the harrowing experience of being invited to Seagal’s house under the pretense of a wrap party, only to be assaulted by the actor.
She described feeling paralyzed and shocked as Seagal, who was much older and larger than her, forced himself on her.
Despite her protests, she felt helpless and violated throughout the ordeal.
Dadis shared her own distressing encounter with Seagal, detailing how he made unwanted advances towards her during an audition when she was only 17.
Despite expressing discomfort, Seagal disregarded her boundaries and subjected her to inappropriate touching.
Feeling horrified and violated, Dadis swiftly ended the audition and left the room, deeply affected by the traumatic experience.
Following the public accusations, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that an investigation into Seagal’s alleged crimes is underway.
While Seagal’s attorney, Anthony Falangetti, vehemently denied the claims, stating that his client has not engaged in any misconduct, the severity of the allegations has sparked concerns within the industry.
In addition to Simons and Dadis, several other women, including Jenny McCarthy and Portia de Rossi, have come forward with their own accounts of harassment by Seagal.
McCarthy revealed how Seagal pressured her to undress during an audition in 1995, using inappropriate comments to intimidate her.
Similarly, de Rossi and actress Julianna Margulies detailed disturbing encounters with Seagal, highlighting a pattern of predatory behavior within the film industry.
The mounting allegations against Seagal have raised questions about accountability and the prevalence of abuse of power in Hollywood.
As more victims speak out against perpetrators, the industry faces scrutiny over its handling of such cases and the protection of individuals from exploitation and harassment.
The bravery of these women in coming forward serves as a reminder of the importance of holding those responsible for misconduct accountable.
