Actor Steven Seagal, known for his roles in action movies and as a martial-arts expert, is facing new allegations of s–ual assault from two women.
These accusations add to the growing number of claims against the Hollywood figure for s–ual misconduct over the years.
Regina Simons, an extra in Seagal’s 1994 film “On Deadly Ground,” came forward with her story on Monday.
She recounted how Seagal allegedly raped her in 1993 when she was 18 years old.
Simons described being invited to what was supposed to be a wrap party at Seagal’s house, only to find herself alone with him in a bedroom where the assault took place.
During an emotional news conference, Simons tearfully shared her traumatic experience, stating that the encounter was not consensual and left her feeling violated and helpless.
Despite Seagal’s attempts to contact her afterwards, Simons never engaged with him again.
Another woman, Faviola Dadis, also spoke out about her encounter with Seagal when she was 17.
Dadis auditioned for a role in a film directed by Seagal and detailed how he requested her to perform a private audition that escalated into a disturbing situation where she felt objectified and violated.
Both Simons and Dadis have taken legal action against Seagal, with attorney Lisa Bloom representing them pro bono.
Bloom emphasized the seriousness of the allegations and highlighted that other women have come forward with similar stories after the news conference.
Seagal, who has a history of s–ual misconduct allegations dating back years, denied the recent claims in an interview earlier this year.
Despite his dismissal of the accusations, more individuals have stepped forward with their own experiences involving the actor.
The #MeToo movement has empowered victims to speak out against powerful figures in various industries, shedding light on long-standing issues of abuse and harassment.
The bravery of Simons and Dadis in sharing their stories aims to hold Seagal accountable for his actions and encourages others to come forward with their own experiences.
As the investigation unfolds, the repercussions for Seagal remain uncertain.
Bloom stressed the importance of accountability and justice for the victims, signaling that the case against Seagal may continue to develop as more individuals share their accounts of alleged misconduct.
