In a surprising turn of events, actor Steven Seagal abruptly ended a live interview with BBC’s “Newsnight” after being asked about the s**ual misconduct allegations against him.
During the interview, reporter Kirsty Wark brought up the topic of Seagal’s involvement in the #MeToo movement and questioned how he deals with the accusations.
Before Wark could finish her question, Seagal removed his earpiece and exited the screen without saying a word.
A crew member then assisted him in removing his microphone while the cameras cut back to the studio.
Wark attempted to call out to Seagal, but he did not respond.
She concluded the interview by stating that Seagal has previously denied all allegations made against him.
Seagal has been accused of s**ual misconduct and assault by multiple women, including actress Jenny McCarthy and “Scandal” star Portia de Rossi.
McCarthy claims that during a 1995 audition for the film “Under Siege 2,” Seagal pressured her to undress and commented on her appearance.
De Rossi alleges that Seagal unzipped his pants during a private office audition.
Actress Julianna Margulies also shared a similar incident involving Seagal when she was 23 years old.
Lisa Guerrero, a correspondent for “Inside Edition,” accused Seagal of wearing a silk kimono during an audition and requesting a private session.
Guerrero took to Twitter after the interview to express her gratitude to Wark for addressing the issue, highlighting Seagal’s decision to walk away as significant.
The allegations against Seagal have escalated to more serious charges, including rape.
Actress Regina Simons accused him of raping her in 1993 when she was 18 years old and working as an extra on his film “On Deadly Ground.”
However, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office declined to press charges due to the statute of limitations, which had expired in 1999.
It is worth noting that other well-known figures, such as Kevin Spacey and Pamela Anderson, have also avoided charges related to s** crimes in Los Angeles.
Despite the lack of legal action, these allegations continue to tarnish the reputations of those involved.
Steven Seagal’s decision to walk out of the interview has sparked further discussion surrounding the accusations against him.
The incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing impact of the #MeToo movement and the need for accountability in cases of s**ual harassment and assault.
