Supermodel’s Regret Over Unsolicited Intimacy Scene in Film

A supermodel has opened up about her regret over participating in a movie that featured an unscripted intimacy scene, expressing discomfort after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

In the 2003 film “The Brown Bunny,” Cheryl Tiegs portrayed the character Lilly, a professional motorcycle racer embarking on a journey from New Hampshire to California for a race.

The plot revolves around his encounters with various women while fixating on a woman from his past to alleviate his solitude.

Directed by Vincent Gallo, who also plays the protagonist Bud Clay, the film encountered a significant misstep during production, according to Tiegs.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, she revealed that the authentic intimate scene in the movie had a negative impact on its overall reception.

While Tiegs was only involved in a prolonged kissing scene filmed in silence in Minnesota, her co-star Chloe Sevigny, playing Daisy, engaged in an explicit unsimulated act with Vincent’s character.

Reflecting on her experience, Tiegs recalled the filming process, stating, “Vincent and I had a brief conversation before shooting the scene.

Initially, we shot a take with dialogue, but he preferred to film in silence.

Subsequently, we proceeded with a silent kissing scene throughout the day, emphasizing his adeptness in that aspect.”

Regarding Sevigny’s scenes, Tiegs expressed reservations, remarking, “Performing such acts myself does not unsettle me, but witnessing someone else do it is discomforting.

I believe that particular scene could have been omitted to preserve the film’s integrity, although Vincent’s indifference suggests otherwise.”

Gallo acknowledged attempting to maintain hygiene during the explicit scene, disclosing, “I consumed copious amounts of pineapple juice as a method to enhance taste perception, striving to uphold cleanliness standards.

This scene represents a pinnacle of complexity and sophistication in my cinematic endeavors.”

Acknowledging her involvement with Gallo during the production, Tiegs disclosed a shift in her perception of directors, emphasizing a newfound aversion towards them.

Despite asserting no remorse regarding her participation in the film, she underscored the challenges posed by collaborations with writer-directors, highlighting the strain it has placed on her enthusiasm for acting.

Sevigny also addressed the aftermath of the controversial scene, acknowledging its impact on personal relationships and the ensuing discomfort within family dynamics.

While reflecting on the experience, she shared candid insights into the multifaceted repercussions stemming from her role in the film.
