In a recent playful banter, Hollywood star Matt Damon humorously recounted the “horrible” encounter of locking lips with Scarlett Johansson in a movie scene.
The 52-year-old actor reminisced about the peculiar incident that transpired during the filming of the 2011 comedy film, We Bought A Zoo, where he shared a kiss with the acclaimed actress.
During an interactive session with his Oppenheimer co-star Emily Blunt for LadBible, Damon delved into the topic of addressing bad breath.
When prompted by the hosts about whether one should inform someone about their undesirable breath, both Damon and Blunt concurred on discreetly offering chewing gum instead of directly confronting the individual.
Reflecting on the unexpected on-screen kiss with Johansson, Damon light-heartedly exclaimed, “Can you imagine how horrible that was for me?!”
The actor then proceeded to narrate a humorous anecdote related to the incident and the aftermath of the impromptu smooch.
Recounting the amusing tale, Damon described a scenario where Johansson had consumed an onion sandwich before the intimate scene.
As fate would have it, just as they presumed the scene was wrapped up, the revelation of the pungent lunch choice took them by surprise.
Damon revealed, “She goes, ‘Oh sh**, I literally just had an onion sandwich!'” in a moment of unexpected candor.
In a jesting exchange with Blunt regarding his reaction during the kiss, Damon quipped, “I was making fun of her the entire time about her onion breath, which I didn't even smell… because her breath smells like roses.”
The playful banter between the actors added a touch of lightheartedness to the reminiscence of the peculiar on-set moment.
Damon, known for his diverse roles in the film industry, is set to portray Lt Leslie Groves Jr, the director of the Manhattan Project, in Christopher Nolan's upcoming biopic Oppenheimer.
The highly anticipated movie, slated to be this summer's blockbuster, features a stellar cast including Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy essaying the role of the pivotal “father of the atomic bomb.”
Despite considering a hiatus from acting, Damon shared that his plans were put on hold when he received the offer to work with Nolan.
The actor disclosed that a negotiation with his wife, Luciana Barroso, in couples therapy led to the agreement that he would continue acting if approached by an acclaimed director like Nolan.
