Jerry Seinfeld, the beloved comedian known for his role in the hit sitcom Seinfeld, has recently come under scrutiny for his romantic history.
Despite his nice-guy image, there is a disturbing revelation about one of Seinfeld's past relationships.
In the early 1990s, Seinfeld was involved with Shoshanna Lonstein, a 17-year-old girl, when he himself was 38 years old.
Initially, they claimed to be just friends, but it later became clear that their relationship was more than platonic.
The pair met in Central Park in 1993, where Seinfeld noticed Lonstein sitting on a park bench and approached her.
They hit it off, and she gave him her number.
At the time, Lonstein was still underage, but they continued dating for four years.
Seinfeld insisted that their relationship did not become romantic or s**ual until after Lonstein turned 18.
However, the significant age difference between them garnered unwanted attention from the media and public.
During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Stern confronted Seinfeld about the rumors surrounding his relationship.
In response, Seinfeld seemed uncomfortable and denied the notion that Lonstein was only 17.
He claimed, “She's not 17, definitely not.”
However, just a month later, Seinfeld contradicted himself during another interview with Stern.
He admitted that he didn't realize how young she was and clarified that they were never in an official relationship.
According to him, they simply went to a restaurant together.
Years later, Seinfeld defended his choice to date someone much younger, emphasizing that he saw Lonstein as a person rather than an age.
He praised her intelligence and their compatibility.
He stated, “When I like someone, I don't care about her race, creed, or national origin.
If I like her, I don't discriminate.
If she's 18, if she's intelligent, that's fine.”
Despite their apparent love for each other, the relationship eventually ended.
Seinfeld claimed that they were very much in love but cited timing as the reason for their breakup.
Lonstein had enrolled in college to pursue her own career aspirations, suggesting that age might not have been the sole issue.
Seinfeld later shared his perspective on marriage, expressing that he didn't want his future wife to work because he believed he had already achieved enough success for both of them.
While their relationship seemed genuine, it is undeniable that Seinfeld's pursuit of 17-year-old girls in Central Park raises serious concerns.
In today's society, where age gaps and power dynamics are subjects of scrutiny, Seinfeld's actions are seen as inappropriate and unacceptable.
The controversy surrounding his past relationship serves as a reminder of the dark side that can exist within the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
