Gianni Russo, known for his role in the iconic film ‘The Godfather,' has recently disclosed that he lost his virginity to legendary actress Marilyn Monroe when he was just 15 years old.
In his memoir, titled “Hollywood Godfather: My Life In The Mob And Movies,” Russo shares the details of their encounter and the impact it had on his life.
The actor recounts how he met Monroe while working at a hair salon in New York City.
According to Russo, Monroe frequented the salon and often requested him to shampoo her hair.
Over time, he became acquainted with the star and saw her as more than just a Hollywood icon, recognizing her as a person with an incredible physique.
One day, after building a rapport with Monroe, one of her advisors invited Russo to her suite at the Waldorf Hotel, where she was staying at the time.
When Russo arrived at the suite, he was taken aback by the disarray.
Clothes were strewn about, dirty dishes littered the sofa, and the bed was unmade.
Monroe, wrapped in a white towel, appeared as a vulnerable figure without her usual glamorous makeup.
She offered him champagne and dropped her towel, inviting him into the bath with her.
Russo admits feeling nervous and unsure about what to do, but he joined her in the tub, embarking on a weekend of passion and intimacy.
Reflecting on the experience, Russo acknowledges his naivety at the time but cherishes the memory of being with America's hottest movie star and s** symbol.
However, upon returning to work on Monday, he realized the stark contrast between his extraordinary weekend and his ordinary life.
He chose to keep the encounter a secret, fearing that no one would believe him.
Russo reveals that he continued to have a clandestine relationship with Monroe for some time.
It wasn't until years later, during the pre-production of ‘The Godfather,' that he confided in Marlon Brando about their affair.
Brando, who was also one of Monroe's lovers, spoke fondly of her and expressed sorrow over her untimely death.
When he asked Russo if he had slept with her, the younger actor affirmed it by revealing an intimate detail—a scar on his upper right thigh, a reminder of their passionate connection.
Although Russo felt guilty afterward, he had inadvertently confirmed their relationship to Brando.
Gianni Russo's memoir provides a glimpse into a lesser-known aspect of Marilyn Monroe's life and sheds light on the impact she had on those around her.
Through Russo's recollections, readers gain insight into the vulnerability and allure of one of Hollywood's most beloved stars.
