Jean Spangler, a young and talented aspiring starlet from the 1940s, vanished without a trace on October 7, 1949.

She was determined to make it in Hollywood but her dreams were cut short when she went missing at the age of 27.

Her torn purse, along with a cryptic note, was discovered two days later in Los Angeles' Griffith Park, but Spangler herself was never seen again.
