Traffic Stop Turns Chaotic: Wisconsin Woman’s Outburst Leads to Multiple Citations

On the first day of 2023, a routine traffic stop in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, escalated into a heated exchange between a Portage County Sheriff’s deputy and a 33-year-old woman named Nicole Golomski.

The incident unfolded when the deputy, while on patrol, ran the license plate of a vehicle and discovered that the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license.

This prompted the officer to initiate a traffic stop.

As the deputy approached the vehicle, Golomski immediately erupted in anger, shouting profanities and denying any wrongdoing.

“Get that shit out of my eyes!

I didn’t do anything illegal!”

she yelled, questioning the deputy’s motives and accusing him of laziness for not pursuing more serious offenses.

Her confrontational demeanor set the tone for what would become a lengthy and contentious interaction.

Golomski continued her tirade, insisting that the deputy was harassing her and claiming it was “entrapment.” When asked for her identification, she refused, asserting she was aware of her suspended status.

“You know who the f*** I am,” she exclaimed, attempting to deflect the deputy’s inquiries.

The situation quickly spiraled as she questioned the deputy’s observations and accused him of stalking her at a nearby gas station.

The deputy remained calm, explaining that he needed to verify her identity and address the traffic violation.

However, Golomski’s refusal to cooperate only fueled her agitation.

“I don’t give a f***,” she retorted, dismissing the deputy’s questions and demanding to know why he was monitoring her movements.

The back-and-forth continued, with both parties digging in their heels.

As the conversation progressed, the deputy noted that neither Golomski nor her passenger was wearing seatbelts, which added another layer to the situation.

Despite repeated requests for identification, the passenger also refused to comply, further complicating the traffic stop.

The deputy communicated with his partner, outlining the violations and discussing the need for a citation.

At one point, Golomski attempted to assert her independence, claiming, “I can walk away.”

However, the deputy informed her that she was being detained due to the ongoing investigation.

The tension escalated as she insisted that she had done nothing wrong while simultaneously admitting to smoking marijuana in the past, raising suspicions about her current state.

Throughout the encounter, the deputy maintained his professionalism, reiterating that the law required both individuals to identify themselves when cited.

Golomski’s refusal to cooperate led to discussions about potential consequences, including the possibility of arrest for obstructing the investigation.

Despite the mounting pressure, she remained defiant, insisting that the officers were overstepping their bounds.

As the situation dragged on, the deputy expressed frustration over the lack of cooperation.

He emphasized that he had observed both occupants without seatbelts and reiterated the need to issue citations.

Golomski continued to protest, claiming the deputies were wasting their time and should focus on more pressing crimes instead of targeting her.

Eventually, the deputy issued Golomski multiple citations: one for operating a vehicle with a suspended license, another for failing to wear a seatbelt, and a third for allowing her passenger to go without a seatbelt.

As she received the tickets, Golomski remained combative, accusing the deputy of harassing her and insisting that he was simply trying to meet a quota.

After the citations were issued, Golomski expressed her intention to push her car to her uncle’s house nearby, claiming she didn’t need a ride from law enforcement.

The deputies agreed to allow her to move the vehicle but insisted on verifying her uncle’s identity to ensure she wasn’t leaving the scene unlawfully.

The exchange ended with the deputy reminding Golomski that she could not drive without a valid license and that they would be watching her closely.

As tensions eased, the officers prepared to leave, but not before ensuring that Golomski understood the seriousness of her violations and the implications of her actions.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of how quickly a routine traffic stop can escalate into a confrontation.

It highlights the challenges law enforcement faces when dealing with noncompliant individuals and the importance of maintaining order and safety on the roads.
