Marilyn Monroe reached out to actor Marlon Brando in a bid to take charge of her career and pull herself out of the despair that ultimately led to her passing away eight months later, as revealed in a previously undisclosed letter.
In a correspondence addressed to her acting mentor Lee Strasberg in 1961, Monroe suggests the idea of establishing a film production company as she endeavors to seek stability from the perpetual “quicksand” she feels trapped in.
She mentions, “I have discussed this matter with Marlon… and he appears to be quite intrigued.”
The letter unveils Monroe's efforts to salvage her life, as the renowned actress found herself entangled in a conflict with her film studio regarding the authority over scripts and roles she portrayed
