Venus Williams encountered a wardrobe mishap during the chaotic 2022 Oscars ceremony on Sunday.
While seated next to her sister Serena Williams, the tennis star suffered a nip slip, which was captured by ABC cameras.
Fans took to Twitter to share screenshots of the incident, showing Williams covering her chest with her right arm.
The occurrence quickly became a topic of conversation, with one user likening the Oscars to an episode of “The Jersey Shore” due to the fashion blunder.
However, it was Venus' friend, Will Smith, who ultimately stole the spotlight.
During the live broadcast, Smith approached Chris Rock on stage and slapped the comedian after he made a joke referencing Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who is bald due to alopecia, an autoimmune condition causing hair loss.
Upon returning to his seat, Smith shouted at Rock, demanding that he refrain from mentioning his wife again.
Meanwhile, later in the evening, Smith won the “Best Actor” Oscar for his portrayal of Richard Williams in the biographical sports drama “King Richard.”
The film, which recounts the story of Richard Williams as the father and coach of Venus and Serena, was also nominated for “Best Picture.”
In a tearful acceptance speech, Smith apologized to the Academy for his earlier behavior.
Prior to her wardrobe malfunction, Venus Williams had shared a photo of her outfit on Instagram.
In her caption, Williams expressed her astonishment at attending the Academy Awards for a film that tells her family's story.
She encouraged others to keep dreaming, working, and fighting, emphasizing that life can take unexpected turns.
Serena Williams also attended the event, stunning in a plunging pleated Gucci gown.
