The brawl occurred in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, during Jones’ pheasant hunting trip in the area.
Witnesses reported that the confrontation began when Jones attempted to join a game of pool at Wiley’s Tavern.
It was during this encounter that a patron casually asked if he was “that guy from the X-Men,” referring to his role as Juggernaut in the film series.
Juan Barerra, a regular at the establishment, claimed that Jones appeared visibly intoxicated when he approached the group.
According to Barerra, Jones took offense and proceeded to push his friends around while boasting about his involvement in numerous other movies.
Amidst the chaos, Jones allegedly head-butted Jesse Bickett, a 24-year-old involved in the altercation, who then retaliated by striking Jones in the face with a beer glass.
The bar’s CCTV footage captured the intense scuffle, displaying Jones bleeding profusely from his face but continuing to throw punches at the 26-stone Mr. Barerra before being subdued.
Sioux Falls police promptly apprehended Jones, who received medical treatment at a local hospital on Thursday night.
He has since been charged with assault.
If convicted and sentenced to jail, Jones’ career in Hollywood could be jeopardized.
Bickett himself faces charges of aggravated assault and sustained a hand injury during the incident.
