Why Seth Rogen Won’t Work with James Franco Anymore

, best friends with actor and frequent collaborator, has decided to distance himself from Franco amid a series of s**ual misconduct allegations.

Rogen revealed in an interview with the UK's Sunday Times that he currently has no plans to work with Franco.

This marks a significant shift in their relationship, as the two have starred together in several films, including “Pineapple Express,” “This Is the End,” and “The Interview.”

, once considered the of his generation, has experienced a drastic fall from grace.

While he initially gained recognition for his portrayal of the '50s screen legend in the TV biopic “,” recent years have seen him become more infamous than famous.

From hosting a cringe-worthy Oscars ceremony with to taking on odd roles in soap operas and exploring various artistic endeavors, Franco has made several questionable career choices.

Despite these missteps, Franco achieved critical acclaim for his performances in movies like “127 Hours,” for which he received a Best Actor Oscar nomination, and “The Disaster Artist,” which earned him a Golden Globe.

He also dabbled in writing, directing, and even enrolled in multiple grad-school programs.

As one of Hollywood's hottest bachelors, Franco dated actresses and models, further solidifying his position in the industry.

However, Franco's reputation began to tarnish in 2014 when he took a selfie with a 17-year-old girl outside a theater where he was performing on Broadway.

He then proceeded to send her private messages and offered to rent a hotel room for them.

Although Franco claimed he was a gentleman and that his fan base consisted of 17-year-old girls, the incident raised concerns about his behavior.

In 2018, Franco faced further backlash after winning a Golden Globe for “The Disaster Artist.”

Actress Ally Sheedy, who had previously worked with him, posted cryptic tweets that seemed to accuse Franco of inappropriate behavior.

Other women, including a former student and an actress named Violet Paley, also came forward with allegations of s**ual misconduct.

Franco denied the accusations, but the fallout was significant, leading to his removal from Vanity Fair's annual Hollywood issue.

Several women from a Los Angeles Times report filed a s**ual harassment lawsuit against Franco in 2019, which resulted in a private settlement in 2021.

Despite maintaining his innocence, Franco's career took another hit last month when comedian Charlyne Yi accused him of being a s**ual predator on Instagram.

Yi claimed that she tried to quit working on “The Disaster Artist” due to Franco's behavior but was offered a bigger acting role as a bribe.

Franco's former “Freaks and Geeks” co-star Busy Philipps also spoke out against him, alleging that he assaulted her on set.

According to Philipps, Franco became enraged during a scripted scene and physically attacked her, throwing her to the ground.

These incidents have further tarnished Franco's reputation and caused Rogen to distance himself from his longtime friend.

Rogen made it clear that he despises abuse and harassment and would never support or enable someone engaging in such behavior.

He expressed regret for his “terrible joke” about Franco's actions during his “SNL” monologue and stated that the allegations have changed their relationship dynamic.

This change is evident in the fact that they haven't worked together since the release of “The Disaster Artist” in 2017.

In conclusion, James Franco's career has plummeted due to a series of s**ual misconduct allegations.

Even his close friend has decided to sever professional ties with him.

The allegations against Franco have significantly impacted his reputation and future prospects in the industry.
