In a remarkable twist, it has come to light that Willem Dafoe's manhood is of such grand proportions that a substitute had to be brought in for one of his movie scenes.
The incident harks back to the year 2009 when the actor featured in the film Antichrist, where he bared it all.
Lars von Trier, the director, revealed that Dafoe's actual member did not make the final edit due to its ‘confusingly large' nature.
Von Trier disclosed, “He has an enormous d**k. We had to remove those scenes from the film and utilize a stand-in because of his own d**k.”
When questioned about the necessity of a ‘stand-in d**k' by journalist Peter Keough, Von Trier asserted, “We needed a stand-in because Willem's was too big.”
The conversation took an amusing turn when Von Trier elaborated that people were left befuddled upon seeing the colossal size of Dafoe's anatomy.
Speculation surrounding Dafoe's prodigious appendage reached such heights that during a 2013 interview with The Guardian, the actor was directly asked about possessing Hollywood's most sizable manhood.
Dafoe neither confirmed nor denied the rumor, opting instead to depart for an audition, quipping, “I don't really work in Hollywood anymore.”
In a recent development unrelated to his genitalia, Dafoe's admirers expressed dismay over the fact that he has yet to secure a significant acting accolade.
A Reddit user pointed out this perceived oversight, labeling it a disservice to the craft.
Many felt that his depiction of Vincent Van Gogh in At Eternity's Gate warranted an Oscar win in 2018, a year in which Rami Malek triumphed for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.
Supporters also believed Dafoe deserved at least an Oscar nomination for his roles in The Lighthouse, with some commending his performance in The Florida Project, which did garner a nomination.
While Dafoe has received four Academy Award nods since his initial nomination in 1986 for Platoon, he has yet to clinch the prestigious award.
