Barbra Streisand Recounts Marlon Brando’s Unwanted Advances

, in her latest book “My Name Is Barbra,” disclosed an unsettling encounter with the late , who propositioned her for a s–ual relationship before they developed a close bond.

The renowned singer and actress, aged 81, delves into a vivid recollection of the incident that occurred during a party in 1966.

Brando, a cinematic icon who passed away in 2004 at 80, brazenly expressed his desire to engage in intimate relations with Streisand by stating, “I'd like to have intercourse with you.”

Despite Brando's inappropriate advances, Streisand firmly rejected his proposal not once but twice.

Even when pressed further during a shared drive in the 1970s, where Brando suggested a visit to the desert to witness wildflowers and an overnight stay, Streisand stood her ground and declined the offer, maintaining her boundaries.

In a separate section of her memoir, Streisand divulges her efforts to enlist the acclaimed actor Robert Redford, now 87 years old, for the 1973 romantic film “The Way We Were.”

Describing Redford as a unique blend of intellect and charisma, Streisand admired his talents and sought him out for a pivotal role in the movie.

However, despite her persistent pursuit, Redford initially turned down the opportunity, citing concerns about the script and character development.

Streisand recounts how she collaborated with director Sydney Pollack, a mutual acquaintance of Redford, to persuade the actor to reconsider.

Their joint determination stemmed from a shared belief that Redford's involvement was essential for the success of the project.

Addressing Redford's reservations about his character's depth and purpose in the narrative, Streisand advocated for enhancing the role to align with the actor's vision, emphasizing the importance of equality in character portrayal.

The challenges in convincing Redford to join the film extended beyond creative aspects to include apprehensions about Streisand herself.

In a revealing account from the book “The Way They Were: How Epic Battles and Bruised Egos Brought a Classic Hollywood Love Story to the Screen” by Robert Hofler, it is disclosed that Redford harbored doubts about Streisand's reputed assertiveness and potential directorial inclinations.

Additionally, Redford expressed reluctance towards Streisand's singing involvement in the movie, fearing a disruptive impact on the narrative flow.

“My Name Is Barbra” is scheduled for release on November 7, promising further insights into Streisand's illustrious career and personal encounters with industry luminaries.

Streisand's candid revelations about navigating professional challenges and interpersonal dynamics offer a compelling narrative that sheds light on the complexities of Hollywood stardom and artistic collaborations.
